Dr. Melkisedeck Asenga, 29, is a dedicated and skilled physician with a Doctor of Medicine degree from Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences.
With two years of hands-on experience at Aga Khan Hospital, specializing in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Medicine Department (EMD), Dr. Asenga has developed strong expertise in critical care and emergency response.
Currently, he serves as a Research Assistant in the Neurology Department under the mentorship of Prof. Philip Adebayo, where he is actively involved in advancing Neurology research.

I am Buhari Hassan, a dedicated Neurological Physiotherapist with over 10 years of clinical experience in neurorehabilitation.
I hold a Master’s Degree in Neurological Physiotherapy from Bayero University Kano, Nigeria, and currently serve with the Gombe State Hospital Services Management Board.
I am a registered member of the Nigerian Society of Physiotherapy and the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria.
My research interests focus on gait training, brain plasticity, and community-based interventions for individuals with neurological conditions.
As a GRASP trainee, I am committed to advancing research that integrates technology with physiotherapy to enhance clinical outcomes in neurological care.
Adegoke Adebayo David is a psychologist, public health data analyst, and educator with a strong background in behavioural science, health systems, and research.
He holds a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Industrial/Organisational Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
Currently, he serves as a Health Data Analyst at the Oyo State Hospital Management Board, where he specializes in improving data-driven decision-making in healthcare.
With experience across academia, clinical practice, and public health, Adegoke is passionate about applying psychological and analytical.
My name is Baraka Ochieng Alphonce, a 35-year-old male Tanzanian physician currently working at Benjamin Mkapa Hospital, one of the country’s leading tertiary referral hospitals.
I have served as a specialist physician for the past three years. I am also affiliated with the University of Dodoma as a lecturer, where I contribute to academic and clinical training.I am committed to advancing healthcare in Tanzania.
My research interests focus on stroke-related outcomes, including stroke mortality, seizures, and post-stroke cognitive impairment.
I am passionate about improving patient care and contributing to evidence-based practices through clinical research.
Chukwuedo Susan Oburota is a Nigerian economist who holds a Ph.D. and a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Ibadan, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Calabar, Nigeria.
Currently, she works as a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at the University of Calabar. She is also a Research Fellow at the Health Policy and Training Research Programme (HPTRP) at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria.
Oburota’s research interests are interdisciplinary, lying at the intersection of health and economics. She leverages microeconomic frameworks to analyze inequalities across vulnerable population groups, particularly women and children.
Dr. Mundih Njohjam is a trainee neurologist from Cameroon but currently based in Senegal, who is passionate about advancing neurological care and neuroscience in resource-limited settings.
Dr. Njohjam firmly believes in the interconnectedness between brain health and cardiovascular health, and so she strives to promote both from the clinic to the community.
When not seeing patients, Dr. Njohjam is passionately raising awareness of neurological and cardiovascular diseases in the community, conducting research, and volunteering for a primary healthcare program in rural and conflict-affected communities.
Dr Njohjam has received several grants and awards for her work.
Dr. Mah W. Asombang is a medical doctor and global health researcher with over 10 years of experience in clinical and research roles in Zambia’s public and private sectors.
She is currently Chief Operations Officer at the Zambian National STEM Foundation, leading resource mobilization, project management, and grant writing to advance STEM education and research.
Dr. Asombang’s expertise spans infectious disease research, mental health, and implementation science, with advanced training in global health and psychiatry.
She is passionate about capacity building, policy development, and empowering vulnerable populations, especially youth, women and adolescents, through innovative, evidence-based interventions.
Okoro-Akpandu Elizabeth is a lecturer at David Umahi Federal University of Health Sciences and a PhD candidate in Pharmacology and Toxicology at Enugu State University of Science and Technology.
Her research explores the role of systemic inflammation in the development of depression and cardiovascular dysfunction in rheumatoid arthritis, with particular interest in plant-based interventions.
She is passionate about advancing locally relevant, evidence-based approaches to managing chronic diseases in Nigeria.
Through the GRASP program, she hopes to deepen her research capacity, gain exposure to interdisciplinary methods, and build collaborations that translate innovative scientific ideas into impactful health solutions for vulnerable communities.
Outside of research and academics, Elizabeth enjoys spending time with friends and family. She pioneers a group known as READERS HUB, a book club where like-minded individuals come together to share ideas and bond over books.
I am Jacob Apibilla Ayembilla, a Lecturer at Accra Technical University and PhD candidate at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Ghana.
As a data science enthusiast, my research focuses on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. I apply advanced analytical techniques like Mendelian randomization and polygenic risk score analysis to explore disease mechanisms and progression.
With a growing interest in statistical genetics and computational biology, I work with multimodal datasets (genomics, biomarkers, and neuroimaging) to improve early detection and prediction.
I am eager to integrate longitudinal modelling, machine learning, and other cutting-edge methods to generate reproducible and translational brain and ageing research.
Oluwaseun Williams is a dedicated public health researcher and data analyst with a strong background in biostatistics and health systems strengthening.
He specializes in applying statistical and data science methods to address complex health challenges, with a particular focus on stroke and non-communicable diseases. With experience in SPSS, Stata, and R.
Oluwaseun has contributed to national health projects and international collaborations. He is passionate about translating data into actionable insights for policy and community-level
interventions.
Known for his collaborative approach and attention to detail, Oluwaseun continues to advance evidence-based solutions in health program monitoring, evaluation, and research.
